New regulatory laws impacting building practitioners come into effect from 1 July 2025.
Under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020, registered practitioners will be required to hold professional indemnity insurance starting from 1 July 2025. This comes after a 12 month extension to acknowledge challenges in obtaining suitable insurance products for building practitioners.
